The same as I'd recommend playing I & II 1st if you ever planned on playing them at some point (hard games to go back to). The game engine is very similar to Ys VIII.

The game engine is very similar to Ys VIII. Ys VIII looks better of course. Celceta was originally an early Vita game and isn't visually much better than Ys Seven on PSP. They improved a lot in that department between Celceta and VIII. I prefer the soundtrack of Ys IV/Celceta over Ys VIII, but they're both great.
